Lenticular is a great media because it can be used in many ways. The above example was created for a company called World Wide Specialty Programs. It is a 30"x40" lenticular that was used in their booth at a convention. Large lenticular signage is a great way to attract attention whether it's at a convention or even as a piece of art in your office or restaurant.

So the holidays are over. Did you take any photos? In this day and age its hard not to. But what you do with them is the question. You could put them on a computer or even upload them onto a website. Or have them developed and end up putting into a box. Instead, take those photos and have us turn them into a 3D lenticular. What is lenticular you ask? There are all kinds of lenticulars out there. For example, lenticular clouds, galaxy's, lens, bridges and printing. Here we will blog about lenticular printing. Even though the other lenticulars are cool too, lenticular printing is what we know best. A lenticular is made up of multiple magnifying lenses called, lenticules. The lenticules are designed so that when the lenticular is viewed from different angles, an image is magnified. It gives an illusion of depth and it makes the images appear to change or move from the different angles. The great thing about lenticular is that you don't need the glasses to see the 3D or the affect. Your brain does that for you. Lenticular offers several types of affects. Like, flip, 3D, zoom, morph, and animation/video. Some lenticulars are printed right on the lens and others are printed on paper and then mounted to the lens. The images are spliced or interlaced together. When they are printed or mounted to the lenticular the interlaced image is lined up under the lenticules. Lenticular has been used throughout the ages. It has been mainly mass produced for cd/dvd covers or for movie posters. When you are out and about look around and see if you can find a lenticular. You might see one at Best Buy in the cd/dvd section. Or maybe at the card store in the hallmark section, or at the movies. Lenticular is all around us.
